uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: translate-alternativereadings

מָע֑וֹג

feast

The word translated as food represents the written Hebrew text. This reading, however, does not seem to make sense. Scholars have proposed that by changing the vowels of this word it would say “deformity,” which seems to fit better the meaning of this passage. The UST follows that interpretation. You may want to follow the major translation in your area. Alternate translation: [my deformity]

חָרֹ֖ק עָלַ֣י שִׁנֵּֽימוֹ

gnashed towards,me (Some words not found in UHB: (in)_godless,[ones]_of mocked_of feast gnashed towards,me teeth_of,their )

They gnashed their teeth at me describes a symbolic action by which the enemies express rage and contempt. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could explain the significance of this action in the text of your translation or in a footnote. Alternate translation: [they showed their anger and hostility toward me]
