Throughout this verse, the pronouns him and he are singular, but they refer to all of David’s enemies as a group. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use the plural forms as modeled in the UST.

David is speaking of destruction as if it were a living thing that could a dangerous animal that would chase the enemies down and suddenly attack them. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Let them be surprised because you destroy them suddenly]

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of destruction, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [Let him be destroyed]

David is describing the ironic reversal in which the traps his enemies prepared will instead ensnare them. The net they set for David will catch them, and they will fall to their own destruction into the “pit” they “dug.” If a speaker of your language would not express this reversal in this way, you could translate the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Let his own trap catch him; let him fall into ruin by his own scheming]
