David uses the word Rather here to indicate a contrast between what he denied about himself in the previous verse and what he now positively affirms about himself. In your translation, indicate this contrast in a way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [On the contrary]

David is using the term soul to mean his entire person from the perspective of his emotional existence. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [my inner self]

The point of this comparison is that just as a weaned child resting upon his mother is calm and content, no longer crying for milk, so David’s inner being (my soul) is at peace.
