123.4 Aqua. AUG. Peccator populus et est a similitudine Ægyptiorum: quæ aqua torrens fluit cum impetu, sed cito transit; unde subdit: torrentem Benefac, Domine. ID. Secunda pars, ubi confirmato populo, precatur quod scit futurum ut bonis prosperitas, malis vindicta veniat.

123.4 Aqua. AUG. Sinner the_people and it_is from likeness Of_Egyptians: which water torrent flows when/with on_the_attack, but quickly transit; from_where/who I_submit: torrent Do_well, Master. ID. Second part, where confirm to_the_people, prays that he_knows future as good prosperity/success, bad_things vengeance/revenge let_him_come.

Here David is speaking of the attacks of the enemies as if they were waters and a torrent that was like a river overflowing its banks or a flood that could overwhelm and drown Israel. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Then the enemies would have overwhelmed us; the attacks would have destroyed us]
