5:7 Forms of the Hebrew chesed are translated here and in most cases throughout the Scriptures as loving devotion; the range of meaning includes love, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, and mercy, as well as loyalty to a covenant.

5.7 Perdes omnes qui loquuntur mendacium. AUG. Quia hoc est veritati contrarium. Veritas est de eo quod est. Mendacium non est substantia vel natura, sed de eo quod non est, et merito perditur, quod declinat ab eo quod est ad id quod non est. Ibid. Mentiri est loqui contra hoc quod animo sentitur. Ibid. Mendacium not/no it_is substantia or natura, but about eo that not/no it_is, and merito perditur, that declinat away eo that it_is to id that not/no it_is. Ibid.
