TSNTyndale Study Notes:

65:4 those you choose to bring near: This includes people from Israel and from other nations.
• Only those whom God sees as blameless live in his holy courts (Pss 15 and 24).
• At the Temple, God’s earthly palace, all nations can gather to experience God’s holy presence. No structure can separate humans from God (see Rev 21:22).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

whom you choose & your courts

(Some words not found in UHB: deeds iniquity prevail against,me transgressions, our you(ms) forgive, them )

The words “you” and “your” in this verse refer to Yahweh.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

live in your courts

(Some words not found in UHB: deeds iniquity prevail against,me transgressions, our you(ms) forgive, them )

This exaggeration expresses that the man is in the temple very frequently to worship Yahweh. Alternate translation: “worship often in your courts”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple

(Some words not found in UHB: deeds iniquity prevail against,me transgressions, our you(ms) forgive, them )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “The goodness of your house, your holy temple, will satisfy us”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / exclusive

We will be

(Some words not found in UHB: deeds iniquity prevail against,me transgressions, our you(ms) forgive, them )

Here the word “we” refers to David and the people of Israel, but not to God, to whom he is speaking.

your house, your holy temple

(Some words not found in UHB: deeds iniquity prevail against,me transgressions, our you(ms) forgive, them )

Alternate translation: “your house, which is your holy temple”
