Here David is speaking of being rescued as if he had been squeezed into a narrow, dangerous space with no way to escape and God enabled him to escape into an open space. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a comparable expression or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [you have set me free from danger] or [you have rescued me from my desperate situation]
