Pupilli sunt omnes in peregrinatione, quibus est absens pater; et omnis fidelis anima est vidua sponso absente: unde et magis patrem et sponsum desiderant, et hos protegit Deus non visus, sed desideratus.

145.9 Pupillum and viduam suscipiet. AUG. Everyone Ecclesia gentium adventitia it_is to patres, not/no carne, but imitando, daughter. Pupilli are everyone in peregrinatione, to_whom it_is absens pater; and everyone faithful anima it_is vidua sponso absente: whence and magis patrem and sponsum desiderant, and hos protegit God not/no visus, but desideratus.
