Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

since you hate instruction and throw my words away
(Some words not found in UHB: and=you(ms) hate discipline and, cast words,my behind, you )
This is the end of the rhetorical question begun with the words “What have you to do” (Psalms 50:16). God uses this question to rebuke wicked people. This question can be turned into a statement: “It is not right for you to declare my statutes and my covenant, since you hate instruction and throw my words away.”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
throw my words away
(Some words not found in UHB: and=you(ms) hate discipline and, cast words,my behind, you )
God speaks of the wicked people rejecting what he says as if they were throwing away trash. Alternate translation: “reject what I say”
