UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

Let your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, be with us

(Some words not found in UHB: let_it_be steadfast_love,your YHWH upon,us just=as hope to/for=you(fs) )

Yahweh acting faithfully towards the people is spoken of as if Yahweh’s covenant faithfulness were with them. If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word faithfulness, you could express the same idea with an adverb. Alternate translation: “May you always act faithfully towards us because of your covenant, Yahweh” (See also: figs-abstractnouns)

as we put our hope in you

(Some words not found in UHB: let_it_be steadfast_love,your YHWH upon,us just=as hope to/for=you(fs) )

Alternate translation: “as we hope for your help”
