TSNTyndale Study Notes:

Ps 118 With an exultant testimony, the psalmist gives thanks for the Lord’s goodness and encourages others to trust in his faithful love (118:1-4, 29). This poem is the last of the Egyptian Hallel (Pss 113–118).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: translate-symaction

The right hand of Yahweh is exalted

(Some words not found in UHB: right_hand YHWH exalted right_hand YHWH does valiantly )

Here, to raise one’s hand is a gesture of victory. If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “Yahweh has exalted his right hand” or “Yahweh has raised his right hand in victory” (See also: figs-activepassive)
