TSNTyndale Study Notes:

Ps 118 With an exultant testimony, the psalmist gives thanks for the Lord’s goodness and encourages others to trust in his faithful love (118:1-4, 29). This poem is the last of the Egyptian Hallel (Pss 113–118).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Open to me the gates of righteousness

(Some words not found in UHB: open to=me gates righteousness enter in/on/at/with,them give_thanks Yah )

“Open to me the gates through which the righteous people enter.” This is a reference to the gates of the temple, and the writer is addressing the gatekeepers. The full meaning of this can be made clear. Alternate translation: “Open for me the temple gates”
