34.9 Soul however my will_rejoice. CAS. Premises with_hope good and with_joy, describes how spiteful towards kind(aj) act. In Master. AUG. Where nothing sweeter: but_not failed, who/which everything he_did: him therefore ask, and in/into/on that/there you_will_have everything.

David is using the term my soul to mean the entire person from the perspective of his spiritual existence. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [But I will be joyful in Yahweh; I will rejoice]

David uses the word But here to indicate a contrast between the destruction of his enemies and his own joy in Yahweh. In your translation, indicate this contrast in a way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [Despite all this, my soul will be joyful in Yahweh]

The terms joyful and rejoice mean similar things. David is using the two terms together for emphasis. If it would be clearer for your readers, you could express the emphasis with a single phrase. Alternate translation: [my soul will celebrate with great gladness]
