Deuteronomy

1 These are_the_words/messages which he_spoke Mosheh to all_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) on_the_other_side_of the_Yardēn/(Jordan) in_wilderness in_plain opposite_to Şūf between Pāʼrān and_between Tofel and_Lāⱱān and_ Ḩₐʦērōt and zāhāⱱ.

3 And_he/it_was in_forty year in_the_one_plus_of ten month on_day_one of_month Mosheh he_spoke to the_people_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) according_to_all that YHWH he_had_commanded DOM_him/it to_them.
4 After he_had_defeated DOM Şīḩōn the_king_of the_ʼAmorī who was_dwelling in_Ḩeshbōn and_DOM ˊŌg the_king_of (the)_Bāshān who was_dwelling in_ˊAshtārōt in_ʼEdreˊī.
5 On_the_other_side_of the_Yardēn in_land of_Mōʼāⱱ he_undertook Mosheh he_made_clear DOM the_law (the)_this to_say.
6 YHWH god_of_our he_spoke to_us at_Ḩorēⱱ to_say is_enough_of to/for_you(pl) remaining at_mountain (the)_this.
7 Turn and_set_out to/for_you(pl) and_go the_hill_country_of the_ʼAmorī and_near/to all_of neighbours_of_its in_plain in_country and_in_Shephelah and_in_Negeⱱ and_on_the_coast_of the_sea the_land_of the_Kənaˊₐnī/(Canaanite)[s] and_(the)_Ləⱱānōn to the_river the_big/great(sg) the_river_of Pərāt.
8 See I_set before_you(pl) DOM the_earth/land go and_take_possession_of DOM the_earth/land which he_swore YHWH to_your(pl)_of_ancestors to_ʼAⱱrāhām to_Yiʦḩāq/(Isaac) and_to_Yaˊₐqoⱱ/(Jacob) to_give to/for_them and_to_their_of_offspring after_them.
9 And_I_said to_you(pl) at_time the_that to_say not I_am_able I_alone to_bear you(pl).
10 YHWH god_of_your(pl) he_has_increased you(pl) and_here_you(pl) the_day are_like_the_stars_of the_heavens to_increase_in_number.
11 YHWH the_god_of your(pl)_ancestors_of_of may_he_add to_you(pl) like_you(pl) a_thousand times and_may_he_bless you(pl) just_as he_spoke to_you(pl).
12 How will_I_bear I_alone burden_of_your(pl) and_your_of_burden and_your_of_dispute[s].
13 Provide to/for_you(pl) men wise and_understanding and_known to_your(pl)_of_tribes so_that_I_may_appoint_them (in)_your(pl)_of_chiefs.
14 And_you(pl)_answered DOM_me and_you(pl)_said is_good the_message which you_have_spoken for_doing.
15 And_I_took DOM the_chiefs_of your(pl)_tribes_of_of men wise and_known and_I_appointed DOM_them chiefs over_you(pl) leaders_of thousands and_leaders_of hundreds and_leaders_of fifties and_leaders_of tens and_officials for_your(pl)_of_tribes.
16 And_I_commanded DOM your(pl)_of_judges at_time the_that to_say hear between countrymen_of_your(pl) and_you(pl)_will_judge righteousness between anyone and_between his/its_woman and_between sojourner_of_his.
17 Not you(pl)_will_pay_regard_to faces in_judgement as_small as_great you(pl)_will_listen not you(pl)_will_be_afraid from_face/in_front_of anyone if/because the_judgement belongs_to_god it and_the_matter which it_will_be_too_hard for_you(pl) you(pl)_will_bring_near to_me and_I_will_hear_it.
18 And_I_commanded you(pl) at_time the_that DOM all_of the_things which you(pl)_will_do.
19 And_we_set_out from_Ḩorēⱱ and_we_walked DOM all_of the_wilderness (the)_great and_(the)_awesome (the)_that which you(pl)_saw the_way_of the_hill_country_of the_ʼAmorī just_as he_had_commanded YHWH god_of_our us and_we_came to Qādēsh Barnēˊa.
20 And_I_said to_you(pl) you(pl)_have_come to the_hill_country_of the_ʼAmorī which YHWH god_of_our is_about_to_give to/for_us.
21 See YHWH he_has_set god_of_your to_your_face DOM the_earth/land go_up take_possession_of_it just_as he_spoke YHWH the_god_of your(pl)_ancestors_of_of to/for_you(fs) do_not be_afraid and_do_not be_dismayed.
22 And_you(pl)_drew_near to_me of_you_of_all and_you(pl)_said let_us_send_out men before_us so_that_they_may_spy_out to/for_us DOM the_earth/land and_so_that_they_may_bring_back us message DOM the_way which we_will_go_up on_it and_DOM the_cities which we_will_go into_them.
23 And_it_was_good in_my_of_eyes the_thing and_I_took from_you(pl) two_plus ten men a_man one to_tribe.
24 And_they_turned and_they_went_up to_the_hill_country and_they_came to the_wadi_of ʼEshkol and_they_spied_out DOM_her/it.
25 And_they_took in_their_of_hand from_the_fruit the_earth/land and_they_brought_it_down to_us and_they_brought_back us message and_they_said is_good the_earth/land which YHWH god_of_our is_about_to_give to/for_us.
26 And_not you(pl)_were_willing to_go_up and_you(pl)_rebelled_against DOM the_mouth_of YHWH god_of_your(pl).
27 And_you(pl)_murmured in_your(pl)_of_tents and_you(pl)_said in_the_hatred_of YHWH us he_brought_us_out from_the_land_of Miʦrayim/(Egypt) to_give us in_the_hand_of the_ʼAmorī to_destroy_us.
28 Where are_we countrymen_of_our going_up they_have_made_melt DOM heart_of_our to_say the_people is_great and_lofty from_him/it the_cities are_large and_fortified in_heavens and_also the_descendants_of the_ˊAnāqī we_saw there.
29 And_I_said to_you(pl) not you(pl)_must_be_terrified and_not you(pl)_must_be_afraid from_them.
30 YHWH god_of_your(pl) who_goes before_you(pl) he he_will_fight to/for_you(pl) according_to_all that he_did with_you(pl) in_Miʦrayim to_your_two’s_of_eyes.
31 And_in_wilderness where you_saw (cmp) he_carried_you YHWH god_of_your just_as he_carries anyone[fn] DOM his/its_son in_all the_journey which you(pl)_walked until you_came to the_place (the)_this.
32 And_in_thing the_this not_you(pl) were_trusting in_YHWH god_of_your(pl).
33 who_went before_you(pl) on_journey to_seek_out to/for_you(pl) a_place you_to_camp in_fire night to_show_you(pl) (in)_way which you(pl)_will_go on_it and_in_cloud by_day.
34 And_ YHWH _he/it_listened DOM the_sound_of your(pl)_words/messages_of_of and_he_was_angry and_he_swore_an_oath to_say.
35 If he_will_see anyone among_men the_these the_generation (the)_evil the_this DOM the_earth/land (the)_good which I_swore to_give to_your(pl)_of_ancestors.
36 Except Kālēⱱ/(Caleb) the_son_of Yəfunneh/(Jephunneh) he he_will_see_it and_to/for_him/it I_will_give DOM the_earth/land which he_has_trodden on_it and_to_his_of_sons because that he_filled after YHWH.
37 Also with_me YHWH he_was_angry on_account_of_of_you(pl) to_say also you not you_will_go there.
38 Yəhōshūˊa/(Joshua) the_son_of[fn][fn][fn] of_Nūn who_stands to_your_face he he_will_go to_there DOM_him/it encourage if/because he he_will_give_it_as_an_inheritance DOM Yisrāʼēl/(Israel).
39 And_your_little_of_one[s] who you(pl)_said (into)_plunder he_will_become and_your(pl)_of_children who not they_know the_day good and_bad/evil they they_will_go to_there and_to_them I_will_give_it and_they they_will_take_possession_of_it.
[fn][fn][fn] 40 and_you(pl) turn to/for_you(pl) and_set_out to_the_wilderness the_way_of the_sea_of reed[s].
41 And_you(pl)_answered and_you(pl)_said to_me we_have_sinned to/for_YHWH we we_will_go_up and_we_will_fight according_to_all that he_has_commanded_us YHWH god_of_our and_you(pl)_girded_on everyone DOM the_weapons_of his_war_of_of and_you(pl)_regarded_as_easy to_go_up to_the_hill_country.
42 And_ YHWH _he/it_said to_me say to/for_them not you(pl)_must_go_up and_not you(pl)_must_fight if/because not_I will_be_of_in_your(pl)_midst and_not you(pl)_will_be_defeated to_(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before enemies_of_your(pl).
43 And_I_spoke to_you(pl) and_not you(pl)_listened and_you(pl)_rebelled_against DOM the_mouth_of YHWH and_you(pl)_acted_presumptuously and_you(pl)_went_up to_the_hill_country.
44 And_he/it_went_out the_ʼAmorī who_was_dwelling in_country (the)_that to_meet_you(pl) and_they_pursued you(pl) just_as they_do (the)_bees and_they_scattered you(pl) in_Sēˊīr to Ḩārəmāh.
45 And_you(pl)_returned and_you(pl)_wept to_(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before YHWH and_not YHWH he_listened to_your_of_voice and_not he_gave_ear to_you(pl).
46 And_you(pl)_remained at_Qādēsh days many like_days which you(pl)_remained.
2 And_we_turned and_we_set_out to_the_wilderness the_way_of the_sea_of reed[s] just_as he_had_spoken YHWH to_me and_we_went_around DOM the_hill_country_of Sēˊīr days many.
2 and_ YHWH _he/it_said to_me to_say.
3 is_enough_of to/for_you(pl) going_round DOM the_hill_country the_this turn to/for_you(pl) northward.
4 And_DOM the_people command to_say you(pl) are_about_to_pass in_the_territory_of your(pl)_relatives_of_of the_descendants_of ˊĒsāv who_are_dwelling in_Sēˊīr and_they_will_be_afraid from_you(pl) and_you(pl)_will_take_heed exceedingly.
5 Do_not engage_in_strife with_them if/because not I_will_give to/for_you(pl) any_of_their_land up_to a_treading_place_of the_sole_of a_foot if/because a_possession to_ˊĒsāv I_have_given DOM the_hill_country_of Sēˊīr.
6 Food you(pl)_will_buy from_with_them for_silver and_you(pl)_will_eat and_also water you(pl)_will_buy from_with_them for_silver and_you(pl)_will_drink.
7 If/because YHWH god_of_your he_has_blessed_you in_all_of the_work_of your_hand_of_of he_has_known your_walking DOM the_wilderness the_big/great(sg) the_this this forty year[s] YHWH god_of_your has_been_with_you not you_have_lacked anything.
8 And_we_passed_away from_with relatives_of_our the_descendants_of ˊĒsāv who_were_dwelling in_Sēˊīr from_the_way_of the_wilderness_plain from_ʼĒylōt and_from geⱱer and_we_turned and_we_passed_along the_way_of the_wilderness_of Mōʼāⱱ.
9 And_ YHWH _he/it_said to_me to you_will_treat_as_a_foe[fn] DOM Mōʼāⱱ and_do_not engage_in_strife with_them battle if/because not I_will_give to/for_yourself(m) any_of_his_land a_possession if/because to_the_descendants_of Lōţ I_have_given DOM ˊĀr a_possession.
10 The_ʼĒymīm formerly they_dwelt in_it a_people great and_numerous and_lofty like_ˊAnāqī.
11 Rəfāʼīm they_were_regarded also they like_ˊAnāqī and_the_Mōʼāⱱites they_called to/for_them ʼĒymīm.
12 And_in_Sēˊīr they_dwelt the_Ḩorī formerly and_the_sons of_ˊĒsāv they_dispossessed_them and_they_destroyed_them from_their_face/front and_they_lived in_place_of_them just_as it_did Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) to_the_land_of its_possession_of_of which he_gave YHWH to/for_them.
13 Now arise and_pass_over to/for_you(pl) DOM the_wadi_of Zered and_we_passed_over DOM the_wadi_of Zered.
14 And_the_days which we_walked from barnēˊa until that we_passed_over DOM the_wadi_of Zered were_thirty and_eight year[s] until was_finished all_of the_generation the_men_of (the)_war from_the_midst_of the_camp just_as he_had_sworn YHWH to/for_them.
15 And_also the_hand_of YHWH it_was on_them to_disturb_them from_the_midst_of the_camp until they_were_finished.
16 And_he/it_was when they_had_finished all_of the_men_of (the)_war to_die from_the_midst_of the_people.
17 and_ YHWH _he/it_spoke to_me to_say.
18 You are_about_to_pass_over the_day DOM the_border_of Mōʼāⱱ DOM ˊĀr.
19 And_you_will_draw_near in_front_of the_people_of ˊAmmōn do_not treat_them_as_a_foe and_do_not engage_in_strife with_them if/because not I_will_give any_of_the_land_of the_people_of ˊAmmōn to/for_yourself(m) a_possession if/because to_the_descendants_of Lōţ I_have_given_it a_possession.
20 The_land_of the_Rəfāʼīm it_was_regarded also it the_Rəfāʼīm they_dwelt in_it formerly and_the_ˊAmmōnī they_called to/for_them Zamzom.
21 A_people great and_numerous and_lofty like_ˊAnāqī and_he_destroyed_them YHWH from_their_face/front and_they_dispossessed_them and_they_lived in_place_of_them.
22 Just_as he_had_done for_the_descendants_of ˊĒsāv who_were_dwelling in_Sēˊīr whom he_destroyed DOM the_Horite[s] from_their_face/front and_they_dispossessed_them and_they_lived in_place_of_them until the_day (the)_this.
23 And_the_ˊAvvim who_were_dwelling in_villages to ˊAzzāh the_Kaftorī/(Kaftor/(Caphtor)ites) who_came_forth from_Kaftorī/(Kaftor/(Caphtor)) they_destroyed_them and_they_lived in_place_of_them.
24 Arise set_out and_pass_over DOM the_wadi_of ʼArnōn see I_have_given in_your_of_hand DOM Şīḩōn the_king_of Ḩeshbōn the_ʼAmorī and_DOM land_of_his begin take_possession_of_it and_engage_in_strife in/on/over_him/it battle.
25 The_day the_this I_will_begin to_put dread_of_your and_your_of_fear on the_face_of the_peoples under all_of the_heavens who they_will_hear report_of_your and_they_will_tremble and_they_will_be_in_anguish because_of_you.
26 And_I_sent messengers from_the_wilderness_of Qədēmōt to Şīḩōn the_king_of Ḩeshbōn words/messages_of peace to_say.
27 Let_me_pass in_your_of_land on_road on_road I_will_go not I_will_turn_aside right_hand and_left_hand.
28 Food for_silver you_will_sell_me and_I_will_eat and_water for_silver you_will_give to_me and_I_will_drink only let_me_pass_through on_my_of_feet.
29 Just_as they_did to_me the_descendants_of ˊĒsāv who_are_dwelling in_Sēˊīr and_the_Mōʼāⱱites who_are_dwelling in_ˊĀr until that I_will_pass_over DOM the_Yardēn/(Jordan) into the_earth/land which YHWH god_of_our is_about_to_give to/for_us.
30 And_not Şīḩōn he_was_willing the_king_of Ḩeshbōn to_let_us_pass in/on/over_him/it if/because YHWH he_had_made_stubborn god_of_your DOM his/its_breath/wind/spirit and_he_had_made_obstinate DOM heart_of_his so_as to_give_him in_your_of_hand as_day (the)_this.
31 and_ YHWH _he/it_said to_me see I_have_begun to_deliver_up to_your_face DOM Şīḩōn and_DOM land_of_his begin take_possession to_take_possession_of DOM land_of_his.
32 And_he/it_went_out Şīḩōn to_meet_us he and_all people_of_his for_battle to_Yahaʦ/(Yahaʦ/(Jahaz)).
33 And_he_delivered_him_up YHWH god_of_our before_us and_we_defeated DOM_him/it and_DOM sons_of_his[fn] and_DOM all_of people_of_his.
34 And_we_captured DOM all_of cities_of_his at_time the_that and_we_totally_destroyed DOM every_of city men and_the_women and_the_little_one[s] not we_spared a_survivor.
35 Only the_cattle/livestock we_plundered to/for_us and_the_booty_of the_cities which we_had_captured.
36 From_ˊArōˊēr which is_on the_edge_of the_wadi_of ʼArnōn and_the_city which is_in_wadi and_unto (the)_Gilˊād not it_was a_town which it_was_too_high from_him/it DOM (the)_every_one YHWH he_delivered_up god_of_our before_us.
37 Only to the_land_of the_people_of ˊAmmōn not you_drew_near all_of the_side_of the_wadi_of Yaboq/(Jabbok) and_the_cities_of the_hill_country and_all/each/any/every that he_had_commanded YHWH god_of_our.
3 And_we_turned and_we_went_up the_way_of (the)_Bāshān and_ ˊŌg _he/it_went_out the_king_of (the)_Bāshān to_meet_us he and_all people_of_his for_battle ʼEdreˊī.
2 And_ YHWH _he/it_said to_me do_not fear DOM_him/it if/because in_your_of_hand I_have_given DOM_him/it and_DOM all_of people_of_his and_DOM land_of_his and_you_will_do for_him/it just_as you_did to_Şīḩōn the_king_of the_ʼAmorī who was_dwelling in_Ḩeshbōn.
3 And_ YHWH _he/it_gave god_of_our in_our_of_hand also DOM ˊŌg the_king_of (the)_Bāshān and_DOM all_of people_of_his and_we_defeated_him until not left to_him/it a_survivor.
4 And_we_captured DOM all_of cities_of_his at_time the_that not it_was a_town which not we_took from_with_them sixty citi[es] all_of the_region_of ʼArgoⱱ the_kingdom_of ˊŌg in_Bāshān.
5 All_of these were_cities fortified wall high gates and_bar[s] apart from_the_cities_of the_hamlet-dweller[s] many very.
6 And_we_totally_destroyed them just_as we_had_done to_Şīḩōn the_king_of Ḩeshbōn we_totally_destroyed every_of city men the_women and_the_little_one[s].
7 And_all the_cattle/livestock and_the_booty_of the_cities we_plundered to/for_us.
8 And_we_took at_time the_that DOM the_earth/land from_the_hand_of the_two_of the_kings_of the_ʼAmorī who were_on_the_other_side_of the_Yardēn/(Jordan) from_the_wadi_of ʼArnōn to the_mountain_of Ḩermōn.
9 the_Tsīdonī/(Sidonians) they_call (to)_Ḩermōn Shiryōn and_the_ʼAmorī[s] they_call to_him/it Sənīr.
10 All_of the_cities_of the_plain and_all (the)_Gilˊād and_all (the)_Bāshān to Şalkāh and_ʼEdreˊī the_cities_of the_kingdom_of ˊŌg in_Bāshān.
11 If/because only ˊŌg the_king_of (the)_Bāshān he_survived from_the_remnant_of the_Rəfāʼīm there sarcophagus_of_his was_a_sarcophagus_of iron not is_it in_Rabāh of_the_people_of of_ˊAmmōn was_nine cubits length_of_its and_four cubits breadth_of_its by_a_cubit_of a_human.
12 And_DOM the_earth/land (the)_this we_took_possession_of at_time the_that from_ˊArōˊēr which was_at the_wadi_of ʼArnōn and_(the)_half_of the_hill_country_of (the)_Gilˊād and_its_of_cities I_gave to_Rəʼūⱱēnite[s][fn] and_to_Gādī[s].
13 And_the_remainder_of (the)_Gilˊād and_all (the)_Bāshān the_kingdom_of ˊŌg I_gave to_the_half_of the_tribe_of (the)_Mənashsheh all_of the_region_of (the)_ʼArgoⱱ to/from_all/each/any/every (the)_Bāshān (the)_that it_was_called the_land_of the_Rəfāʼīm.
14 Yāʼīr/(Jair) the_son_of Mənashsheh he_took DOM all_of the_region_of ʼArgoⱱ to the_border_of the_Geshurite[s] and_the_Maˊₐkātī[s] and_he/it_called DOM_them on his/its_name DOM (the)_Bāshān the_villages_of Yāʼīr until the_day (the)_this.
15 And_to_Mākīr I_gave DOM (the)_Gilˊād.
16 And_to_Rəʼūⱱēnite[s][fn] and_to_Gādī[s] I_gave from (the)_Gilˊād and_unto the_wadi_of ʼArnōn the_middle_of the_wadi and_a_border and_unto Yaboq/(Jabbok) the_wadi the_border_of the_people_of ˊAmmōn.
17 And_the_ˊArāⱱāh and_the_Yardēn/(Jordan) and_a_border from_Kinₐrōt and_unto the_sea_of the_ˊArāⱱāh the_Sea_of (the)_Salt under the_slopes_of (the)_Pişgāh eastward.
18 And_I_commanded you(pl) at_time the_that to_say YHWH god_of_your(pl) he_has_given to/for_you(pl) DOM the_earth/land (the)_this to_take_possession_of_it equipped you(pl)_will_pass_over to_(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before countrymen_of_your(pl) the_people_of Yisrāʼēl/(Israel) Oh_all_of the_sons_of strength.
19 Only wives_of_your(pl) and_your_little_of_one[s] and_your_of_livestock I_know if/because_that livestock much to/for_you(pl) they_will_remain in_your(pl)_of_cities which I_have_given to_you(pl).
20 Until that he_will_give_rest YHWH to_your(pl)_of_countrymen like_you(pl) and_they_will_take_possession_of also they DOM the_earth/land which YHWH god_of_your(pl) is_about_to_give to/for_them on_the_other_side_of the_Yardēn and_you(pl)_will_return everyone to_his_of_possession which I_have_given to_you(pl).
21 And_DOM Yəhōshūˊa/(Joshua) I_commanded at_time the_that to_say eyes_of_your_own are_the_ones_which_saw DOM all_of that he_did YHWH god_of_your(pl) to_the_two_of the_kings the_these thus YHWH he_will_do to/from_all/each/any/every the_kingdoms where you are_about_to_pass_over (to)_there.
22 Not you(pl)_must_fear_them[fn][fn][fn] if/because YHWH god_of_your(pl) he is_the_one_who_will_fight for_you(pl).
23 and_I_sought_favour to YHWH at_time the_that to_say.
24 My_master YHWH you you_have_begun to_show DOM servant_of_your DOM greatness_of_your and_DOM hand_of_your (the)_strong that who is_a_god in_heavens and_on_earth who he_will_do like_your(pl)_of_works and_like_your(pl)_mighty_of_deeds.
25 Let_me_pass_over please so_that_I_may_see DOM the_earth/land (the)_good which is_on_the_other_side_of the_Yardēn/(Jordan) the_hill_country (the)_good the_this and_(the)_Ləⱱānōn.
